Hyland Language Academy recruits teachers of English on a continuous basis.

Our teachers must have a recognised teaching qualification such as the Trinity or Cambridge CELTA or, for teaching YLs, a PGCE (or equivalent qualification for teaching YLs in state schools 'at home'). We recruit teachers who are interested in their personal development through classroom support and additional training.

Hyland Language Centre is at the cutting edge of language teaching methodology - members of our staff and ex-staff having written some of the best-known course books and materials - and employs native, qualified, experienced teachers who undergo continual in-service training. Although we teach some 2,000 students a year and some 50 teachers work for us, we have managed to remain true to our philosophy of "big but little" and a friendly, personal atmosphere reigns at all levels.

We work in three main fields:
On-site English courses - We teach mainly General English to groups of adults in Serrano. We also offer a range of short courses, including IELTS and TOEFL, and provide Teacher Training services, including CELTA courses. We also offer foreign study courses through our Courses Abroad department.
Company contracts - We provide language services to company clients, both on-site in Serrano and off-site on company premises. Our contracts include the Ministry of Justice, ICEX and Cargill España.
Off-site young learner classes - We offer extra curricular English classes to children and adolescents in 8 off-site schools, all accessible via the Madrid metro system. We also provide Teacher Training services to Spanish state school teachers.

Conditions of employment: We offer contracts, with paid holidays and an end-of-contract bonus, Spanish classes, a wide range of teacher resources, continual teacher support, training and development.

We are always on the lookout for qualified teachers, although we don't always have full-time jobs available. We do need teachers to have the RSA Cambridge CELTA (or the Trinity) or, for teaching YLs, a PCGE (or equivalent qualification for teaching YLs in state schools 'at home'). We also recruit teachers who are actually here or definitely coming (not teachers who are simply 'thinking about it' or making enquiries from far-flung locations!).

Salary: Competitive - to be discussed at interview. We also have very competitive rates for freelance teachers, between €18 and €25,50 / hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
